CORE Math Unit for K-2

Need help implementing the CORE Math standards?

Kindergarten Units

First Grade Units

Second Grade Units

I began creating CORE math units out of frustration with having new standards to teach and NO materials. I am a total math lover and I want my students to have consistency in their daily math lesson. I found that I was trying to pull materials and lessons from so many places - I HATED IT and my students suffered!

SO...I began creating math units. After I finished the first grade units some of my colleagues begged me to work on kinder units and since I spent many years teaching kinder, I have a great understanding of kinder kiddos and what they are capable of.

Here is a little peek at what my CORE math units include:

Note: First and Second Grade Units ONLY!

For the first and second grade units, I have also created a quarterly pre-assessment so parents, students, administrators and teachers are able to see the amazing growth that your students are making!

There are 16 units total. Each unit contains 2 weeks of instruction. I teach 4 units per quarter and spend one week at the end of each quarter reviewing any concepts that students are struggling with. These 16 units will provide you with an entire year or consistent curriculum!

Not sure if this product will work in your class? Here are a few comments from teachers who use these CORE math units in their class: (quotes taken from TpT)

"After seeing the results our kindergarten had last year with these CC units, our first grade is now adopting them. Our students are doing super and have developed a great deal of number sense and problem solving skills! Thanks for a great resource."

"This is a great math curriculum! It has a perfect mix of worksheets and activities to teach lessons. Students like doing the worksheets. Independent work is actually independent. Practice sheets continually spiral on top of each other so new concepts are not lost or forgotten throughout the year."

"Angie, you are spot on with the common core! Thank you for sharing all of your activities!"

"Thank you for putting the lessons together to match up with the CCS. Your time and efforts are so appreciated."

"My kids and parents love it- thank you!"

"This is such and outstanding addition to my CORE math curriculum. Truth be told, I actually rely on it more than my out-dated curriculum. This meets the common core better. Thank you for all your hard work!!!"

"Thanks for taking the time to create something so much better than any company could ever! :)"

"Have purchased all the first grade units and couldn't be more pleased! Loving that our expectations are higher and that curriculum mapping is a breeze!"

"I have purchased all of the Common Core packets that are posted and they have been wonderful. These packets are WELL worth the price!"

"My MAP test scores were through the roof - thanks!:)"

"My kids are really enjoying your units. The hands on activities are perfect and I love the review on the practice pages."

"You make me smile! Thank you!"

"We LOVE all your Core Math Units! The students are challenged, but very motivated. They used your Kindergarten units last year and came to first grade with so many great math skills, we had to try them at this level. Thanks for a great resource!"

"Super thanks for working hard so I can reap the rewards!"

"I have bought them all and they are the best math units for CC First Grade!"

"Excellent! Professional quality! You are very talented! Thanks!"

1119Hi Angie,
Do you think you will create vocabulary cards for the Kindergarten units to help with a math word wall or anchor charts? I have ELL learners in my room and looking for more visuals to allow them to use as a resource. I recently purchased the units for kindergarten and prepping them for the new school year. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Angie Rahn

I just got moved today from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. I loved your Kinder units and saw you are doing 2nd grade units too. When do you think units 5-16 will become available? Are you releasing them quarter by quarter? I want to buy the first 4 but want to make sure I'll be able to get the rest throughout the year before I commit. Thanks!
